Marie Cramer was elected mayor of the village of Macedon Tuesday, with 185 votes according to unofficial results from the Wayne County Board of Elections. Village Trustee David Kelly received 68 votes in the contested race.
Cramer takes office April 2, when the village will have a new mayor for the first time in 16 years. Mayor James Hoteling is stepping down after his long tenure as mayor and as a trustee before that.
Kelly is in the middle of his term as a trustee and will retain his seat on the Village Board.
Reached Tuesday evening after the polls closed at 9 p.m., Cramer said she is grateful for all the support and the people who came out to vote. ?Together we can make a difference,? she said.
